Background:
The farm is located close to the Volta river. Trees are planted on 3ft ridges because during the rainy season/ large storms, the area can become flooded and channels are linked so that all flood water quickly flows away.
Ghana Avocado Farm Objective – is to trigger flowering to obtain increased yields.
Several varieties of Avocado are being grown.
Currently they have planted 6 hectares (15 acres) of Avocado trees however they have produce very few flowers. Trial is to spray only 270 trees (3.4 acres) with Sankofa Agbiotics and Triple Green using battery powered knapsack sprayer as in Fig. 4.
Product Quantity is 100 ml of each diluted in 15 litres of clean water.
Frequency = Every 2 weeks
Flowering is expected to be triggered within 6 weeks, and procedures will be reviewed at the end of the trial.
NB. It is Important that for trial period all spraying is conducted by Spence MS Ghana Ltd trained staff. At each spraying application training of farm workers will also be undertaken.
